Winter can be difficult for families who are already living with uncertainty.
Many asylum seeker families arrive in Aotearoa New Zealand with very little. Some are living in cold homes without enough warm bedding, winter clothing, or safe heating.
Through Share the Warmth – Winter Appeal 2026, ASST is collecting winter essentials and financial donations to help families stay warm, safe, and supported through the colder months.
Your support can help provide blankets, warm clothing, heaters, and practical winter support for families in need.
For many asylum seeker families, winter brings extra pressure.
Cold homes, limited income, lack of warm clothing, and the cost of heating can make daily life much harder. This is especially difficult for families with children, older people, and those already facing stress while waiting for their refugee claim to be processed.
A blanket, a heater, or a warm jacket might seem simple.
But for a family facing winter with very little, it can make a real difference.
